About the Journal

Focus and Scope
Synergia: Journal of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (SyJASH) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal devoted to providing an international forum for exchanging ideas and findings from researchers and professionals across arts, social science, humanities, and education. Just as the name (synergia) implies “working together,” the journal aims in bringing together researchers and professionals in academia and industry to participate in sharing knowledge from critical, philosophical, creative, and professional points of view. The journal welcomes articles from a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches to research, and encourages submissions from the broader fields of arts, social sciences, humanities, and education.

Publication Model & Frequency
The journal aims to publish at least one issue each year using a continuous publication system. Articles are published online when ready for publication and then printed in an end-of-year compilation. Each published article is allocated a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Additional special issues may be published for special events (e.g., conferences). Guest editors can submit a proposal to the Journal Editor-in-chief for consideration. All special issue papers will be subjected to a double-blind peer-review process.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Synergia: Journal of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities are double-blind peer-reviewed according to the following procedure:

Initial review: All submitted manuscripts are initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief to determine the suitability and compliance in terms of the journal scope, style and presentation. Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum requirements are rejected or returned to the authors for resubmission within one week of receipt.

Peer review: Manuscripts that pass the initial review are refereed by two independent reviewers under a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewers and the authors are kept anonymous. The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, relevance to the field and soundness of methodology. To ensure timely publication, reviewers are asked to complete their reviews within four weeks.

Final decision: Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript and communicates the decision to the authors. The final decision can be “Accept Submission”, “Revisions Required”, “Resubmit for Review”, “Resubmit Elsewhere” or “Decline submission.” We strive towards completing the review process for each submitted manuscript in 8 – 12 Weeks.
